MIRA

Every great wine belongs to a place

It all began with an emotion

Some encounters change the course of things.

For Stefano Casadei, one of them took place at the end of 2019, among the granite hills of Gallura.

It was there that he came across a Vermentino vineyard whose vines had lived through more than fifty years of seasons.

Each vine held a story shaped by balance, patience, and respect, built slowly, year after year.

Some places ask to be transformed. Others simply ask to be listened to.

Mira was born from that encounter.

I wasn't looking for another vineyard. I was looking for a place capable of moving me. When I arrived in Gallura, I immediately understood that such a place existed.
Stefano Casadei

The vines teach those who know how to observe

We like to think that old vines have a memory.

Not because they remember the past, but because they hold what time has taught them: the harshest winters, summers swept by the wind, the most generous harvests and the most challenging ones.

Every season leaves its mark. Every root reaching deep into the granite rock preserves a balance shaped over decades of life.

When Stefano Casadei encountered this vineyard, he did not imagine a project to impose, nor a wine to shape according to his own vision.

He chose a different path, more difficult and more authentic: to preserve an identity that already existed, respect its character, and allow the land to continue telling its story, with the same sincerity with which nature had shaped it.

When you find a vineyard like this, you understand that your job is not to make it better. Your job is to ensure that, twenty years from now, it will still be capable of moving someone the way it moved me on that very first day.

THE PROJECT

Each grape variety, its place

We believe that every great grape variety has a place where it can fully express its identity. Not just any place, but the place where nature, time, and people shape the character of a wine.

That is why we did not build the project around a single estate. We chose to travel across Sardinia and let its landscapes guide us. Each territory pointed us toward the grape variety capable of telling its story with the greatest authenticity.

Every grape variety has a place where it can tell its story better than anywhere else. Our task is to recognize it, preserve it, and let it speak.
Stefano Casadei

THREE TERRITORIES. ONE VISION.

Sardinia is an island of extraordinary diversity. Within just a few kilometres, the soils, winds, light, and even the very character of the landscape can change. It is this richness that inspired Mira.

Each wine is born in the territory where its grape variety can express itself with the greatest authenticity. We were not looking for a single territory. We were looking for the right places.

Gallura

Amid granite, wind, and sea, the Vermentino that gave rise to the project was born.

Sarcidano

At the heart of Sardinia, Cannonau finds a landscape that brings its authenticity, balance, and character to life.

Sulcis

Where the Mediterranean meets Carignano, giving rise to wines of depth, elegance, and distinctive character.

Every place, its own balance

Every Mira wine begins with a simple principle: respect for the place comes before everything else.

All the vineyards in our collection are cultivated according to the principles of certified organic farming—a conscious, tangible choice that lies at the heart of everything we do.
From this foundation comes our way of making wine: an approach that sees the vineyard as a living ecosystem, where soil, biodiversity, people, and landscape coexist in balance.

There is no single method that works everywhere. There is only the method best suited to each place. Because only by respecting the identity of a territory can we create a wine capable of telling its story with authenticity.

Every territory has its own vocation, a place where a grape variety can express itself at its best. That is where we choose to make our wines.

The Collection

Three wines.

Three territories.

Three interpretations of Sardinia.

Each label is born from the encounter between a grape variety and the place where it can express its character with the greatest authenticity.

Vermentino di Gallura DOCG

Gallura, our origin

This is where it all began. Vermentino di Gallura DOCG comes from a historic vineyard planted in 1982, in the heart of Gallura, the land where Vermentino finds its true home.
A wine born from the desire to tell the story of this land through its most authentic expressions, with respect and a strong sense of identity.

Carignano Isola dei Nuraghi IGT

The Mediterranean soul of Sulcis

In Sulcis, where light, wind, and the scent of Mediterranean scrub come together, a Carignano takes shape that speaks the language of its land. Deep, elegant, and sincere, it captures the most authentic essence of the Mediterranean.

Cannonau di Sardegna DOC

The most authentic expression of Sarcidano

Cannonau is the oldest voice of Sardinia. It carries the character of the island, the strength of its roots, and that slowness that transforms time into experience, and tradition into identity.

Wine is simply the way a territory expresses itself

Mira is an invitation to discover Sardinia through its most authentic places. Not a single estate, but a collection of territories, landscapes, and wines united by one vision: putting the place at the heart of every choice.

I have always believed that wine should tell the story of the place it comes from, not the person who makes it. Mira is the result of this belief: a continuous search for the territories that best express the identity of each grape variety, cultivated with respect and given the freedom to speak through the wine.
Stefano Casadei
